The RTP is a federally mandated comprehensive and long-range plan for the transportation system in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The document details the transportation investments to be made between now and the year 2035 for road, transit, and bicycle/pedestrian projects. The RTP was adopted by the RTC Board on December 13, 2012 and received federal approval in February 2013.

On August 14, 2014, the RTC Board of Commissioners adopted the 2015-2019 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) containing the highway, transit, bike, and pedestrian projects in Southern Nevada. The 2015-2019 TIP has now replaced the 2013-2016 TIP and updated the Air Quality Conformity Analysis of the 2013-2035 RTP. The projects identified in the 2015-2019 TIP will not contribute to any violation of the air quality standards approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the projects that are planned in the RTP could be implemented in the next five years of the TIP starting October 1, 2015. The 2015-2019 TIP is expected to be approved by the Federal Highway Administration in late December 2014.

Note: Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2013 funded projects have already been obligated for which the obligation report is available (2013_Federal_Obligation_Report) – The FFY 2014 fund obligation report will be available in early 2015. The projects that were not obligated in those FFYs have been carried forward into the FFY 2015-2019 TIP.
